This may be used in a ceremony to reinforce the idea of being a good neighbor. Lead it by the repeat-after-me method. (Slant-marks indicate pauses.)

I will do my best/ to make my neighborhood/ a good place to live.

I will set a good example/ by keeping my sidewalks/ and grounds clean.

I will not litter.

I will not damage/ private or public property.

I will be a good neighbor/ by trying to be/ helpful and friendly to others. I will respect other people.
