The Broken Arrow

A few years ago someone posted an AOL ceremony that dealt with breaking an arrow and giving the point end to the scout's parents and giving him the feather end.

The parents were his leader and he was the follower, hence the two parts of the arrow.

When he was to receive his Eagle he had finished the journey and could reconnect

the broken pieces or something like that.

Footnote: If you have this ceremony, please send me a copy. I have been asked to help locate it.

Thanks

The Idea Chest

The Radio Controlled Badge

Props: A radio Controlled Car or Truck, Badges.

Format: Attach the badges to the RC vehicle and drive them from the front of the pack meeting to the boy and parents.

Point Of Pride

Here is a idea for a tiger den opening I heard that could be used with any den where the parents are present. The boys are asked to share something cool that happened to them since the last meeting. Then the parent shares something he/she  is proud of that the boy did. It could be a about a good report card, helped with family chores, etc.  It gives the parent an opportunity to boast about their boy and give the boy positive enforcement for doing his best.
