Ceremony Props
|
|
It's hard to tell from this image,
but on the base of each of the candle holders is a small image of each
of the 20 Webelos Activity badges.
The lower right row is missing one
holder.
I would assume that the ceremony
includes lighting the appropriate candle that represents
the badge being awarded.
Lighting all 23 candles at one time
probably requires a special burning permit from the local
fire marshal. :-) |

Here are some nice ceremony props I
found while attending the Crossroads Of America Council Pow Wow |
|
Here is a prop for awarding the
Webelos Compass patch and arrow points. It stood about two feet tall.
I can't believe that I never thought
of a prop like this. |

Note the clever use of a Tiger Cub
sticker on the standard issue Boy Scout orange neckerchief. |

Two interesting props here. The back
board is hinged on the back which allows it to stand up when the
triangle sides are pulled forward. It also allows the prop to be folded
flat and take up less room for storage. The arrow prop is build like a scale.
Put a candle on one end, and the arrow tips. Put a candle on the other
end and it levels out. There is also a hold drilled in the dowel
hinge. When you want the candle to remain level, you can
insert a small nail from above that locks the dowel to the base. |
