Here is an interesting Prop…. I found this one while attending the North East Region Akela Calls in June 2000

The builder used the oversize cloth rank patches that are available from National Supply. You could use the stickers if you can not find these patches. But the patches really make this prop stand out.  The part that really caught my attention was the removable patches. One could imagine a ceremony where this prop is displayed without any patches. Then as the ceremony progresses you insert the corresponding patch in its slot. You should note that there is a strip of wood between each patch that allows any one of the patches to be removed without disturbing the

remaining patches

If I were to build a copy of this prop I would only make one change to it's design. Since the patches are rather

expensive I would want to make these parts of the prop more reusable. I would add a set of legs to each of the patches so that they could be free standing much like a photo frame. The legs would need to be able to recess into a slot on the back of the patches so that they could continue to be used with this prop without getting in the way.

This way if the patches were freestanding they could be combined with other props, candles, etc and make a totally new prop.

If anyone knows the name of the Scouter who built this prop please drop me an email, I would love to give him/her credit for their work.
